As we all have been watching, the coronavirus (COVID-19) has made its way to the United States. The health and safety of all Briargate Boulevard Animal Hospital employees and clients are of utmost importance and we wanted to provide you with information about the proactive planning measures and actions we are undertaking. We know issues like this can be stressful and we are saddened for the people and families who have been affected.

BBAH is dedicated to remaining open to provide both wellness care and urgent care for your pets but will request that clients who have symptoms of an infectious respiratory disease like a cold or flu to stay at home. To balance the need for social distancing and personal safety with the need for pets to receive health care, we have closed our lobby and have moved to 100% curbside service. Here is what you can expect for your curbside care appointment with your pet…

When you arrive in the parking lot, stay in your car and text (preferred) or call us at (719) 528-5557. A team member will come out to collect your pet and take them into the hospital to complete their exam, vaccinations, or other scheduled services while you wait in the car. If the appointment is for an exam, the doctor will call you to discuss her findings and recommendations; once we have your permission, services and/or treatments will be provided. Upon completion, a team member will bring your pet back to your car. Be assured that our Fear Free philosophy continues to guide our care and handling of all our pet patients.

Picking up medications/prescription food

When you arrive in the parking lot, stay in your car and text or call us at (719) 528-5557; we will bring your medication/prescription food out to you. Additionally, we have medication and food (prescription and non-prescription) available for home delivery through our trusted online pharmacy partner. A link to this partner’s ordering site can be found on our homepage at Shipping is free on many orders, and there’s also an AutoShip option that will send your pet’s regular meds and foods to you on schedule.

This is an ever-evolving situation.  We will be posting updates as they become available.  We are not anticipating a closure at this time, but we will keep our BBAH family informed of any changes as they develop.

We ask for your continued understanding and patience while we do our part to keep the community safe and minimize the burden on our human health care system. This is unknown territory for most of us, but we are here and stand by you as we all bear the burden of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you for helping to provide a safe environment for everyone visiting Briargate Boulevard Animal Hospital and our community. Please take care of yourselves and your furry families!
