Dr. Christie Bond
Dr. Bond loves her job! She can often be found on the floor of an exam room with a treat in her hand, gently greeting a nervous patient or getting chin kisses from an exuberant pet. At the core of her practice philosophy is the belief that pet owners are key members of their pet’s health care team and that decision making should be a collaborative effort based on client education and each family’s unique circumstances. Dr. Bond has a particular passion for creating a low-stress veterinary experience for her patients and is a Fear Free Certified Professional. She’s happy to share the principles of “Fear Free” with anyone who will listen!
While growing up in Pennsylvania, Dr. Bond considered a career in veterinary medicine but was reminded by a high school guidance counselor that she disliked chemistry, and any medical pursuit would require many similar classes. At the time, she decided to obtain her B.A. in English. She then worked for the U.S. Air Force as a government civilian in public affairs for eight years, meeting and marrying her husband along the way. Eventually she acknowledged that her heart was still with veterinary medicine (chemistry couldn’t be that bad!) and returned to school to complete the undergraduate math and science courses required for veterinary school admission. After receiving her DVM degree from Colorado State University in 2010, Dr. Bond joined a small animal practice in Colorado Springs where her love for her work grew along with her experience. In June 2016, she joined Briargate Boulevard Animal Hospital and has enjoyed integrating “Fear Free” patient care techniques into the practice’s long tradition of providing the highest quality medical, surgical, and dental care.
When she’s not at BBAH, Dr. Bond can be found shuttling her kids around to various activities, watching football (Go Steelers!) and enjoying quiet time at home or in the outdoors with her husband. Her favorite spot in the world is anywhere on a mountain, whether on foot, on her mountain bike or on skis. A demanding orange tabby cat and a goofy rescue mutt round out her family.
