Carolyn, Office Manager
Carolyn loves all animals but has a special place in her heart for rescues.
Growing up in Massachusetts, Carolyn always knew she wanted a career working with animals. Carolyn moved to Colorado in 2004. In 2007, she earned her Veterinary Assistant Certification. After taking time off to care for her firstborn son, Carolyn was excited to join the team at Briargate Boulevard Animal Hospital in 2013.
Carolyn is the office manager, taking care of HR and administrative duties & She also assists with patient care alongside the technicians and doctors. You might see her all over the hospital! She enjoys meeting new patients as well as seeing familiar faces.
While Carolyn thoroughly enjoys caring for clients and their pets, her greatest achievement and greatest joy are being a mother. She and her husband have two sons. She also loves going to concerts (especially at Red Rocks!), reading, hiking and taking trips back east to be with family and to be near the ocean. Carolyn is also an enthusiastic hockey fan.
As an animal lover, Carolyn has a few at home. Samson, the sassiest and social of Carolyn’s cats greets every guest who visits their home. Affectionate Elliott has developed a great love for his laser pointer toy and loves to snuggle. Her family also has a Betta Fish, who was named affectionately by her eldest son. Her “soul pup” Finn crossed the rainbow bridge in October 2017. He is missed dearly.
Sharon, Client Care Specialist
Sharon’s veterinary path began in 1979 when she received her Certified Veterinary Technician credential from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. Shortly thereafter, she met her husband and moved to Colorado Springs where she worked as a veterinary technician for three years. After taking a few years away to raise her children, Sharon returned to veterinary medicine where she focused on customer service.
Sharon’s veterinary hospital experiences have given her a firsthand look at animals’ unconditional love. Having worked at both a hospital’s front desk and in the exam rooms, she has seen the magical interactions between clients and their pets. Sharon loves working in an environment where she can contribute to the excellent care of animals.
Sharon enjoys the opportunity to answers clients’ questions, and periodically gets the chance to assist in the treatment area, where her career started. Sharon knows she is contributing to the patients’ care, and enhancing their lives.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoys camping and hiking with her family. She especially likes to teach her grandsons about the animals they see in nature. The two boys love to visit Sharon at the animal hospital and are always eager to see which pets are visiting that day.
Sharon’s nine-year-old cat Skittles keeps Sharon on her toes. This long-haired feline is the center of attention at Sharon’s home. The Cat truly thinks she is a person!
Carmelita, Client Care Specialist
Carmelita grew up in the Bay Area of California. She moved to Colorado Springs in October of 2016 with her boyfriend and their 3-year-old pup Tron. They have had the pleasure of spoiling him since he was 6 weeks of age. They were ready for a change from living in a big city. She has worked with animals for many years, after volunteering at her first veterinary hospital as a teenager she fell in love with the field and has developed a passion for helping animals and their owners. She is very excited to be a part of BBAH, and is very excited to call Colorado her new home. She looks forward to exploring all the nature and beauty that Colorado has to offer.

Jessica, Certified Veterinary Technician/Lead Technician
Jessica was raised in Fountain, Colorado. After graduating High School she moved to Fort Collins. Jessica attended Front Range Community College and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2007. Over the years she has worked in small animal practice. She loves meeting and working with clients and their fur babies. Jessica is very happily married and she and her husband have two wonderful daughters. Her family also includes an old gal Sasha who is a brindle Boxer, as well as 2 cats she has rescued along the way, Chuck and Charlie. Jessica has always had a passion for Veterinary Medicine and loves all animals. She feels she is truly working her dream job and she loves every minute of it.
Nicole, Certified Veterinary Technician
A career in veterinary medicine offers Nicole a challenging, educational, and rewarding environment in which she’s able to help some of her absolute favorite things in the world: animals. There’s truly never a dull moment! She’s a Certified Veterinary Technician here at Briargate Blvd Animal Hospital. In January 2017, she obtained her “Fear Free” certification!
Nicole was raised in a military family; she was born in Guam but grew up in both England and Italy. In 2011, she moved to Colorado from New Mexico and graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at the Pima Medical Institute in the fall of 2014. The next summer, Nicole became officially certified as a Veterinary Technician and joined the Briargate Blvd Animal Hospital family shortly afterward.
At home, Nicole lives with her two boys, Robert and Raul, as well as a cat named Anakin. In her time away from work, she enjoys working on cars with her father, reading, crocheting, camping, fishing, hiking, shooting at the range, cheering on the Detroit Lions, and immersing herself in the world of Star Wars.
Missy, Veterinary Technician
Missy hails from the beautiful San Luis Valley of southern Colorado. Her passion for agriculture and animals lead her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Upon completion, she was offered a position as a Research Assistant on the CSU research farm back in the “valley.” Missy remained there for a few years breeding potatoes and collecting research on small grains and alfalfa. Due to her mother’s health, Missy relocated to a lower elevation to Colorado Springs. With the absence of agriculture, she transitioned into city life by attending PIMA Medical Institute for the Veterinary Technician program. With just over four years experience, she joined the team here at Briargate Blvd. Animal Hospital.
When not working, Missy enjoys time with her new husband and step-son and escapes to the San Luis Valley every chance given to her. Her favorite past times include fishing, hunting and being a groupie for her husband’s bands, Channel 27 and Determyned.
Cheyenne, Veterinary Technician

Katie, Veterinary Technician
Katie was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO. Like any Colorado native she enjoys being outside hiking and camping with her husband. She also enjoys taking pictures, most of her dogs. In the winter Katie likes to scrapbook, rock climb and participates in hot yoga. Katie has wanted to work with animals since she was in 1st grade. She has always had a passion to help animals live long, happy lives.
Her first job was at a kennel when she was 16. Katie loved seeing all the different kinds of dogs. She has always had a dog growing up. Katie’s favorite quote is “Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our life whole.” Katie graduated from PIMA Medical Institute in November of 2013. Since then she has worked in general practice as well as ER as a vet tech. Katie became “Fear Free” certified in January 2017. She is very happy to happy to be at Briargate Blvd Animal Hospital because the staff is very kind and caring towards your pets. They treat every client and patient like family.
Celeste, Kennel Attendant/Veterinary Assistant
Celeste was born in Ogden, Utah. She has lived all over the globe- including England, Germany and also stateside in Las Vegas, Nevada. She moved to Colorado Springs over a year ago. She has 3 children. They share their home with two dogs. She has always had a love for animals and caring for them has been a passion of hers. She enjoys spending time her kids (furry kids as too!) She loves being outdoors, reading, watching movies and spending time with friends and family. Celeste has completed a course at Animal Behavior College and looks forward to continuing her education to further herself into her veterinary career.
Ariana, Veterinary Assistant
My name is Ariana Angelina Garcia but I go by Ari. I was born and raised in sunny Southern California. I moved to Colorado Springs 5 years ago, it was here that I found my path in life but most importantly what I am most passionate about; helping and caring for animals and their people. I graduated from PIMA Medical Institute with my certification in veterinary assisting in 2014, since then I have worked for a corporate hospital, emergency hospital and now at Briargate Boulevard Animal Hospital. Along the way, I have learned a lot of what is required in this field and what I want in my career. I am proud and ecstatic to be working with the people here at Briargate Boulevard Animal Hospital, they have shown me love, support, and great passion for what they do. They inspire me each day to continue growing in my personal.
